The Lumen is a 34-story apartment tower at 1600 Euclid Avenue in Playhouse Square. Rising 396 feet on what had been a surface parking lot, it was built from 2018 to 2020 for about $135 million. The Playhouse Square Foundation owns it and hired Hines as development manager; Solomon Cordwell Buenz designed it and Gilbane Building Company built it. The tower holds 318 apartments and about 22,000 square feet of shared space for residents, including a landscaped rooftop terrace with white pergolas, gardens and grills.
