Bio

Doris Korda is the founder and CEO of Korda Institute for Teaching, an Ohio nonprofit on a mission to do school better. Adopted in schools from Cleveland to Kazakhstan, her teaching methods have empowered thousands of educators and students in urban and rural schools and districts around the world. Her school change process uses agile development and an innovation adoption model to help school leaders make healthy, systemic shifts for their teachers and students.

Before her 26 years as an educator, she spent 15 years as a systems engineer turned tech entrepreneur, turning a small network business into a $1 billion publicly traded company. She developed Hawken School's globally recognized entrepreneurial studies program, designed the Mastery School of Hawken's curriculum, assessment model and teaching methods, and is co-originator of the Mastery Transcript Consortium, an initiative to change the high school transcript to reflect each learner's unique skills, strengths and interests. Her work has been featured in TED Talks, in education journals including Childhood Education and Getting Smart, and in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and HuffPost.
