Impact

A meteor crashed.

My friend said it shook his house.

No impact was made.

This haiku was almost your entire letter today. Those 14 words hold the whole story, it’s a loud world and I'd be remorse to add to the noise. But it’s me, ole T bones with the pen, and I suppose there’s a lil more I should propose to prepare for our coffee talk on creativity this Friday.

The theme for this month’s Greyt Big Talk is IMPACT, that’s been set for months. This week, a giant rock fell from space, burned through the atmosphere, crashed into the earth causing a palpable rupture to many daily lives. Do I have follow up questions? Was there damage, was anyone hurt? How big was it really, how far did it journey to get here? Should I read into the fact that impact is my word of the month and the universe delivers this? DEAR GOD WERE THERE ALIENS ON BOARD!?

No. I do not ask these things. The news a mere blip in the passing moments and none curiosities came to me until I sat down to write you today.

One of the most common, and I think desirable ways to spend our time is making a positive impact on other people. I can provide no definitive answers on how to do that for you… but I do my best to find others who are on a likely path to impact and give my finite attention and curiosity as often as possible.

It’s hard to argue there’s a more powerful art form than the collective team based venture of film making to share stories that shape our understanding of the world. Biting the whole thing off all at once would be impossible, but I invite you to a view within our local little corner of big movies in the making.

The venue is a first of it's kind virtual production studio in northeast Ohio - our honored guest a casting director helping build the teams for local and global film makers to make, that, magical impact.   much love, T Fox
