(Ahem) Buongiorno CreativeMornings team and partners, and others I (sort of) accidentally added!
The type of time it takes to tout a typical tale is tenuously tied to training. Tell the truth, let it loose, take your tally of trash tasks toss that tater tot to the tarpit and treasure the travel you toot! toot! and toot! toot! while aboard a storm twirling tilting a tepid temple of too much to do…. just, you do you kid, you do you.
...Or so they tell me.
This month’s CM tale is in, and I like it :-)
We’re Going Back to the beach for CreativeMornings NEXT Friday the 16th. We’ll set up a perceptively tiny(ish) circle in the middle of the massive sprawling kite field, or perhaps under the iconic Edgewater willow, I’m not sure. Either way, IT MAY BE HOT... But it’s Cleveland, and it may not. It might rain? and if that’s the case we’ll pick up the biscuit baskets and head to the beach house.
I WILL need help setting up and tearing down chairs, if you can lend a hand at 7 am the morning of the 16th please let me know. Details for everything planned is below. If something is red please raise your hand and pitch in. If something is WRONG please tell me you can't. IF something is missing - shoot me a note, let me know. If there’s something special you’d like to do that’s not here… I’m probably on board, just shoot me a note and let me know. Do you get it? If you’re having a hard minute, revisit the video of Lindsey Jo’s poem “Look, the summer sky is turning its hues of pinks and blues into night" Also, check out months ahead, send thoughts and feedback if you have it.

Nomination Night, our annual evening affair, will take place at LUSH & LOVELY FLORIST SHOP's Warehouse Loft on Lorain Ave. Thursday, October 10th. Lush & Lovely Loft is BRAND NEW not even open yet, and it’s an incredible place.
The basis of Nomination Night is that I want all of you to tell me who you’d like to see speak on CM, if you’d like to speak, a friend of yours, creative internet crushes, which themes make sense for different people. I like to get this input from our partners, our past speakers - and I want it to be fun so we make the process a party, open bar cocktail hour, snacks, music, and this time around we’re adding an ART show, 12 artists with one work representing each of the 2020 themes to help get the gears turning.
I ultimately want speakers on CM to be higher profile, successful creative people or incredibly innovative inspiring people that may not have had much exposure - the connection is a two-way street and I want it to be as valuable for the community to have facetime with the speakers as it is for the speaker to have facetime with the community - Meaning, I DO NOT want these speaking engagements to be about sales exposure for a project or company. This is difficult to determine and even more difficult to reach highly successful people, offer no money for their valuable time, and schedule them to appear for the program. IT IS WORTH IT THOUGH. Making this effort to connect creatives in a casual context (over a cup of coffee) bridges our silos together - I don’t care what anyone’s politics are, the simple act of coming together breeds growth, understanding, and benefits all parties even if it can not be intrinsically seen or measured.
As part of the team, I want all of you to be there for this process to find our next speakers - There are hard costs associated with this event so if you can book a ticket I’d appreciate it, if you’re unable to cover a ticket I don’t want it to stop you from attending, just ask, really, and I can send you a comp code.
DISCOUNT ADVANCE REGISTRATION CLOSES SATURDAY> nomnight.eventbrite.com
members from Patreon should already have a discount code for a $10 ticket (if you didn’t get this let me know)
The artists scheduled to feature at Nom Night thus far are:
- Dana Oldfather
- Nicolette Capuano Atelier
- Eva Volf
- Erin Guido
- Trisha Previte
- Asia Armour
(diversity and inclusion are important to me and it’s disappointing when I fall short… in this case, none of the male artists I have invited to participate have gotten back to me yet, and anticipating this to be a predominantly female show, hopefully, you’re all ok with that!! I’ll keep working to do better)
All the artwork being shown at Nom Night will be up for sale/auction at the event, and the proceeds split 50/50 with the participating artists and to raise money to put on monthly CreativeMornings events.
