Song of the Summer

Who would you rather take on a road trip, Rick Steves or Anthony Bourdain? There’s only one answer here, I can’t believe I’m even proposing you’d offer an opinion, but that’s my style I guess. With the notable mosaic of early summer midges splattered across my windshield, I’m thinking about the long days in hand, and possibly trekking endless miles of pavement very soon, just for the fun of it.

The patch of tarmac to take in scenery is an important choice of course, allowances for point of view there, but the company is the most important part of any journey. A good companion knows where to stop. When to talk. When to skip the planned off-ramp. When to take a side quest.  How to get out of a jam due to said side quest. And lastly, will appreciate every drip of soundtrack you build along the way.

If you’re really wondering — I’d take my time with Tony — not sure I could hang, but I gotta skip the guide book and talk to the locals. Make some inconsequential choices without gathering all possible information - experience the freedom of being on the wind, on the road… It’s the summer of 2025, time to get out there.

I hope you’ll join us this evening for the kick-off of the Golden Hour Concert Series. I’ve been planning and connecting the dots for this summer’s sunset series for a year, and each will be special, emotional even, for you and your chosen companions.

Much love,
