Graham Veysey
Video producer and urban developer
Graham Veysey is a Cleveland video producer, entrepreneur and neighborhood builder with a soft spot for walkable cities. Raised in Shaker Heights and a 2004 graduate of Bates College, he founded North Water Productions, an Emmy Award-winning video, animation and live event production company that has made work for Cleveland businesses, nonprofits and institutions such as the City Club of Cleveland and Playhouse Square for more than a decade. By 2018 the company had won four Emmy Awards, and it has since expanded to Rochester, New York.
Graham was also the head wine guy at MANCAN, the first exclusive wine-in-a-can company, which grew to distribution in more than 20 states. In 2010 he was named one of the young "Cleveland believers" of the Cleveland Coalition, and he worked on a six-acre urban farm on the near West Side that supplied produce to the West Side Market.
With architectural designer Marika Clark, he has collaborated on neighborhood work in Hingetown, the enclave at the edge of Ohio City.

Marika Clark

Marika Shioiri-Clark is a Cleveland architectural designer and design strategist who works to create social impact through design. Through her firm, SOSHL Studio, she helps nonprofits and foundations find solutions that benefit communities, drawing on human-centered design, architecture, real estate and creative placemaking.
From 2007 to 2010 she co-founded and was managing director of MASS Design Group, and while studying at Harvard's Graduate School of Design she was a lead designer on the Butaro District Hospital in rural Rwanda with Partners In Health. In 2011 she was a global fellow at IDEO.org, working on education, health and sanitation projects in the United States and Ghana. She has designed programs for adolescent girls with the Nike Foundation in Nigeria and Ethiopia and worked with the International Rescue Committee. She holds a B.A. in urban studies from Brown University.
With Graham Veysey she has helped build up Hingetown at the edge of Ohio City, beginning with the 2011 purchase of a vacant firehouse, followed by the Striebinger Block with its large living wall, 11 street murals and the Church & State development. In 2022 Mayor Justin Bibb appointed her to the Cleveland City Planning Commission.

Location
St. John's Episcopal Church
2600 Church Ave, Cleveland, OH
St. John's Episcopal Church, at 2600 Church Avenue in Ohio City, is the oldest consecrated building in Cuyahoga County. Designed by Hezekiah Eldridge and built between 1836 and 1838, the stone church is an early example of American Gothic Revival; it was rebuilt after a fire in the 1880s and again after a 1953 tornado. Its bell tower served as a lookout for boats carrying freedom seekers across Lake Erie, and it became known as "Station Hope" on the Underground Railroad. A parish worshipped here until December 2007. The building belongs to the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio, which is now discerning what comes next for it. Inside, tall stained glass windows line a high, plain hall.
