Justin Bibb
Mayor of Cleveland
Justin M. Bibb is the 58th mayor of Cleveland. Born and raised on the city's Southeast Side, he graduated from American University and earned a dual MBA and JD from Case Western Reserve University. He began his career in public service working for Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate, then held roles in local government and the private sector focused on innovation and economic growth.
Before running for office he founded Cleveland Can't Wait, a civic effort to use data and technology to take on the city's toughest problems. He took office on January 3, 2022, as Cleveland's first millennial mayor, and is now serving his second term.
His administration's priorities are improving public safety, investing in neighborhoods and modernizing City Hall. Its work includes the RISE public safety initiative, a $100 million Site Readiness for Good Jobs Fund to turn vacant land into job-ready sites, a lakefront plan to reconnect the city "from shore to core to shore," new housing investment to reduce homelessness, and the Building Brighter Futures plan with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Nationally, he co-chairs Mayors Against Illegal Guns and America Is All In.
