Lisa Quine

Muralist and graphic designer

Lisa Quine is a Cleveland muralist, illustrator and graphic designer whose bold, colorful work turns blank walls into landmarks. Through her studio she designs murals, illustrations, branding and print work for businesses and organizations, and she has painted more than 130 murals in ten states and two countries, including a single wall of 2,000 square feet.

She studied graphic design at the University of Dayton, earning a BFA, and spent five years in advertising before leaving her art director job to build a business around hand lettering. That practice grew into murals, coloring books, magazine covers, gallery shows and a deck of cards for SuperTrue. Her clients have included Destination Cleveland, the Cleveland Guardians and Aveda, and she has painted at the Canton Mural Fest.

In 2018 the City of Cleveland chose her to represent it in Rouen, France, where she worked with two French artists on a mural marking ten years as sister cities. Cleveland Magazine named her one of its Most Interesting People in 2020, Cleveland Scene named her Best Artist in Cleveland in 2024, and the Cleveland Cavaliers gave her a JIF Diff Maker Award in 2025.

The Bop Stop

Location

The Bop Stop

2920 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH, 44113

The Bop Stop is an intimate listening room at 2920 Detroit Avenue, at West 29th Street in Hingetown, with sweeping views of Lake Erie. Tiered seating and an open floor plan mean there's not a bad seat in the house, and it is an all-ages venue with its own parking lot. The club was donated to The Music Settlement in late 2013, and the Settlement's staff now book everything on its stage, from up-and-coming acts to established names, with sales helping support the Settlement's programs. All About Jazz named it the Top Jazz Club in the United States in 2019, and past performers include Joe Lovano, Benny Golson, The Bad Plus and Terence Blanchard.
