Zachariah Durr

Comedian and co-founder, Keep Talking

Zachariah Durr is a Cleveland comedian and storyteller, and with Adam Richard the co-creator and host of Keep Talking, a true-story show they started in 2014. Each month Northeast Ohioans gathered at the Happy Dog in Gordon Square to tell true stories from their own lives, with no acting or comedy experience required, and episodes recorded there were broadcast on Ideastream's Sound of Applause. Near West Theatre

Location

Near West Theatre

6702 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH, 44102

Near West Theatre creates life-changing theatre arts experiences that empower its community, under the motto "Ordinary People. Extraordinary Theatre." It began in 1978 as a summer youth program founded by Stephanie Morrison, Rev. George Hrbek and Father Robert Scullin, staging its first show, Godspell, in Saint Patrick's Church Hall on Bridge Avenue. In February 2015 the theatre opened its new LEED Gold home in the Gordon Square Arts District.

About this event

The theme was the thing we all have too little of: time. Instead of one speaker, this Greyt Big Talk featured three, each with a completely different take on the theme, in the PechaKucha format: 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds, advancing automatically while the speaker talks along.

Al Wasco, a retired design educator; Zachariah Durr, comedian and host of the Keep Talking storytelling show; and Ariel Clayton Karas, violinist with Classical Revolution and Opus 216, shared the stage at the newly built Near West Theatre in Gordon Square.

The morning was presented with PechaKucha Night Cleveland, a catalyst for creative community in Cleveland since 2008.
