Bob Ruggeri

Film producer, writer and director

Bob Ruggeri is a writer, producer and director and the founder of Omega Point Films, a television and film production company in his hometown of Cleveland. He launched it in January 2014 to produce the movie Lost in Austin, starring Linda Cardellini, Craig Robinson and Kristin Schaal.

He began his career as a screenwriter, and his first screenplay, Pure Shooter, was optioned by several major studios. After that script and his next, Dead Dresses, stalled in development, he turned to producing to gain more control over his projects. His first effort was co-producing Jeff Nichols's Take Shelter, which Sony Pictures Classics bought the day before its 2011 Sundance premiere and which won the grand prize at the Cannes Film Festival's Critics' Week. His next film, The Kings of Summer, premiered at Sundance in 2013 and was released by CBS Films. In television he co-wrote, produced and directed the pilot Scottish Reign for James Gandolfini's Attaboy Films. He has also made hundreds of national commercials and videos, and won a national Gold Addy for producing Bellefaire's campaign on youth homelessness with Doner.
