Flowers Are Red

Hello everyone,

I have some good news, but first a bit of bad. I woke up today to discover it’s getting colder outside and there’s absolutely nothing I can do to flap my arms like a bird and fly away. Nothing at all can be done! This tragedy, this flaw, this unjust burden of limitation by my stupid body makes me… no different than any other person I’ve ever met. But still! Here I am in the chilly September dew, grieving my unborn feathers, wishing I was gone, in the sky, going home.

Alright, I don’t wish I had feathers. What a freak I would be, unless everyone had feathers, and then I would be just like everybody else, probably grieving that I didn’t have smooth skin to run on and feel the earth beneath my feet.

How awesome is it that we’re different? We complain about being different a lot, especially regarding those with opposite political beliefs to us, but the fact is that people being different, inside and outside, makes the world much much more beautiful and complete. I try to appreciate this by organizing these events, having coffee with as many people as I can once a month. it’s not that hard to do and sometimes I get to see different people fill each other's gaps and grow some freaking marvelous wings.

SPECTRUM is our global theme, and we’ll be meeting up this Friday. Featuring Dr. Melissa Armstrong-Brine. She’s a Pediatric Neuropsychologist specializing in Autism. We’ll be broadcasting the virtual event from the MetroHealth main campus green space - no live event accommodations but the park is open to the public and if you wear a mask you’re welcome to stop by and listen at a distance. Only about a quarter of CreativeMornings chapters around the planet have survived the pandemic doing virtual or virtual hybrid events. I don’t know what is ahead for Cleveland, doing my best to keep this resource open for our city to connect and support each other as long as I can. If you'd like to help out in a specific way reach out.

IMPORTANT. I have very few pitches lately. If you know an awesome project or company owner or start-up project that should give a quick pitch please Intro them to me! I try to prioritize people/projects that have not been featured before.

See ya out there,
