Peace & Dynamite

Every now and then, you’ve just got to blow things up. — What's it called when you mean something both literally and figuratively, is it some special kind of metaphor? I'd like to chat about dichotomies and juxtaposition and the role it plays in captivating creative works.... but I also don't, and there's much Greyt Culture news to share, so let's get to that instead.

1. To start, Greyt Outdoor was featured on NPR in the local broadcasts for Morning Edition and All Things Considered last week. Take a listen, and enjoy the latest film. Since this aired we’ve had some interest from other nature conservations to film music in nature films but we’ll need some sponsor support to shoot later this summer. Sharing those press links with the right people helps us make more of that series.

2. Greyt Big Talk is wrapping up the Spring 2023 season next Friday with an incredible local story from Anna Cerveny on creating the Cleveland Dance Project, a movement engaging a massive adult community in Cleveland with the holistic health practice of dance. This is an outdoor event, across the street from the West Side Market. There’s lots of space for espresso pitches for anyone to share their own projects. Please reach out to sign up or refer anyone to pitch their creative/entrepreneurial ideas over to omg@thatsgreyt.com

3. Golden Hour is back for summer starting on June 23rd. For the hundreds of past speakers, property owners, designers, musicians, team and partners receiving this letter - I'd be honored if you'd join us at a Golden Hour Sunset Concert this summer. The Music, Food, Fashion, and Tech features are all underway — Since these concerts all sold out last year we’ve added a special expanded location to accommodate everyone - the North Coast Harbor in July. Thank you to Assembly for the Arts for being our non-profit fiscal sponsor to help present these incredible experiences.

4. If you’re reading this on thatsgreyt.com/letters I’ve posted some mockups for future profiles, and event listings at the bottom of the page. Our goal is to create rich digital pages for individuals, organizations, and inspiring places that make up our city - transparency and open doors - making it easier to learn about features and creating more opportunities to connect when we gather in person. We’d also like to add profile preferences for receiving email, easy profile submission so our team can elevate community members into the spotlights with less friction, and media pages that connect our partners, members, and location hosts seamlessly online.

This is a big project we know you'll find beneficial, if you haven’t already please consider signing up to be a member as part of this exciting next chapter.

Ready for summer, peace n' dynamite

-Thomas
